Call for Board Members – CDNBCA is Recruiting

The Cote-des-Neiges Black Community Association (CDNBCA) is seeking engaged, dedicated, experienced, and excited volunteers to join our Board of Directors. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE APPLICATION PROCESS CLOSES ON APRIL 30TH, 2026.

You’re a perfect fit if: 

●       You are passionate about, and have experience working or volunteering in a non-profit organization in a collaborative way.

●       You are interested in the development of a thriving Black community in Montreal.

●       You believe and support the CDNBCA mission and vision.

●     You have 8-12 hours a month to dedicate and support the CDNBCA organizational & governance activities

●       You are a strategic minded upstanding member of your community with proven leadership skills and can contribute to the Board’s overall responsibility of oversight to ensure the mission and values are upheld.

●       You have expertise in areas such as human resources, legal, marketing, finance, fundraising, sponsorship, communications, program development, governance, or strategic planning. 

About the CDNBCA: 

Our mission is to support the development of social, cultural, educational and economic institutions in our community. We strive to develop partnerships and collaborate with institutions to provide effective services and programs which will address the needs of our community. Cote-des-Neiges Black Community Association (CDNCCA) is guided by strong principles which enshrine the rights of all people in this society to live with equality and dignity. 

What you’ll be doing: 

The Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that the organization's mission is implemented and that the CDNBCA’s values are respected in all its decisions. The Board also oversees legal and financial management of the organization. 

You will attend monthly Board meetings and carry out oversight of CDNBCA’s operations through our four main departments: 

●       Corporate (strategic planning, funding and membership) 

●       Finance (forecasting, budgeting, financial statements)

●       Human Resources (recruitment, employee development, payroll)

●       Programs (developing and supporting CDNBCA’s projects and services)
